30,000 students and counting

Building on three years of successful partnership, Junior Achievement and NN Group are joining forces for a fourth academic year to raise awareness of social innovation across the globe. Thanks to the support of more than 700 NN colleagues, we are proud to have impacted the lives of more than 30,000 young people so far.

In the academic year 2017-2018, the partnership will be active in eleven countries. We are continuing with the three educational activities that have proven to be successful in previous years: the Social Innovation Relay, the Innovation Camps, and the Job Shadow Days.  All three activities allow us to use our expertise and resources in the most impactful way. That is, to support young people in their development path, so that they can make the most of their professional lives.

    Impact Analysis

The Impact Centre Erasmus, part of the Erasmus University, analysed the impact of the Social Innovation Relay programme. Based on the research, we are able to say that after participating in the Social Innovation Relay:

    • Students show increased entrepreneurial intention, communication and creativity skills, entrepreneurial behaviour and social awareness.
    • The involvement of NN mentors shows significant positive impact.  Mentors offer support in developing students’ ideas, encouraging them to consider entrepreneurship as a career and providing real-life examples of social entrepreneurship.

Participating colleagues confirm the powerful effects of the programme. As one colleague put it: ‘I was really glad to watch the students grow more confident, while turning their ideas into real business projects!'. To us, this is further evidence that we are empowering young people to secure their financial futures.

Junior Achievement is Future Matters’ international partner. NN Future Matters is NN Group’s overarching Community Investment Programme. It aims to empower people in the markets in which we operate and support them in growing their economic opportunities. We aim to foster financial education and empowerment; we aim to create economic opportunities for young people and we aim to support families with children that live in financially challenging circumstances.
