NN Group celebrated music at the 2018 NN North Sea Jazz festival in Rotterdam Ahoy on 13, 14 and 15 July. This video captures some of the energy of the festival and the thoughts of just a few of the 75,000 visitors.
Remco Barbier, Head of Branding at NN Group, said, ‘We are so proud when we look back on the NN North Sea Jazz festival 2018, the first since our partnership began. We have contributed to creating special music moments in many people’s lives, and for me that brings true joy. One of the artists, Aloe Blacc, said on stage: “We make music to celebrate life”. This quote summarises the whole weekend. Music is emotion, music connects, and that’s what you feel at this festival.
With our partners, we were able to offer jazz fans an enhanced experience through photography and late night jazz conversations that took place during the festival. It was great to see how much the whole event was enjoyed by all visitors. We are already looking forward to next year.’
The 2018 festival was the first of NN Group’s partnership with North Sea Jazz. In cooperation with our partners, we organised activities before and during the festival. Unique jazz photographs by Dutch photographer Ed van der Elsken were displayed in an exhibition by our partner the Nederlands Fotomuseum Rotterdam. Each festival evening concluded with ‘North Sea Late Night’, a new talk show from the NN North Sea Jazz festival grounds, hosted by pianist and comedian Mike Boddé and radio DJ Angelique Houtveen. Both events were made possible by Nationale-Nederlanden.
