NN Running Team athlete Eliud Kipchoge wins London Marathon

Yesterday, NN Running Team athlete Eliud Kipchoge won the 2018 London Marathon with a time of 2:04:27. The reigning Olympic champion outlasted an incredibly strong field and crossed the finish line ahead of all other athletes. A new world record was not expected due to the 24-degree weather conditions, but Kipchoge gave it a strong attempt and crossed halfway in 61:00. Eliud remains the greatest marathon runner in the history of running, winning nine out of his ten marathons. This was his third London Marathon victory after also winning in 2015 and 2016.

Eliud: ‘I came to London to run a beautiful race and today, to me, I ran a really beautiful race. Thank you London!’ NN Running Team teammate Tadelech Bekele ran an incredibly strong women’s race and placed third with a personal best of 2:21:40. Abel Kirui finished fourth and Kenenisa Bekele placed sixth in the men's race.
