Lard Friese was appointed as member and vice-chair of the Executive Board on 1 March 2014 and as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and chair of the Management Board and Executive Board on 7 July 2014. On 1 June 2017, he was reappointed as member and chair of the Executive Board and as CEO, and his membership and chairmanship of the Management Board continued. Previously he was appointed to the Management Board of ING Insurance as from 3 November 2011. Lard is responsible for the strategy, performance and day-to-day operations of NN. He has been with the company since 2008 and has experience in the financial services industry dating from 1988, most recently with NN Insurance Eurasia and Nationale-Nederlanden.
