At NN, we believe a diverse workforce makes us a stronger company. We want the people who work for NN to feel respected and valued for who they are, and further promote female leadership, by taking specific action: for example awareness discussions, and training or supporting initiatives outside our company such as TEDxAmsterdamWomen. NN is a partner for the 2018 TEDxAmsterdamWomen event.

In the leadup to the main event on 6 December in Amsterdam, a Pitch Night was organised in SOHO House Amsterdam on 9 November. During the evening, ten female with game-changing ideas around the theme ‘Bridging the Gap’ pitched their concepts.

Dailah Nihot, member of the NN Group Management Board, opened the evening on behalf of NN Group: ‘At NN, everything we do revolves around people and what matters to them in life and in business. Within our company, we are very serious about creating an inclusive culture. The more diverse our workforce is - providing variety in thought, skills and experience - the better equipped we should be for whatever tomorrow brings.’

Please also read the interview with Dailah Nihot in which she gave her thoughts on diversity, inclusion, and teaming up with TEDxAmsterdamWomen as a platinum partner.

At the end of the Pitch Night evening, two winners were selected by the jury and audience. We congratulate Dr Yamini J. Singh - urban and transport Planner and Jessica Gyasi - model/filmmaker and founder of Model For Models. We are looking forward seeing them on stage at the TEDxAmsterdamWomen event in December.
