Profile
Leon van Riet was appointed CEO Netherlands Life & Pensions and member of the Management Board NN Group on 1 June 2020. He is responsible for the Dutch Life and Pension businesses as well as for NN Life Japan. He is also statutory board member and CEO of Nationale-Nederlanden Levensverzekering Maatschappij N.V.
Leon’s previous positions include CEO of NN Non-life. Prior to that, he was member of the Delta Lloyd Executive Board and responsible for Life insurance. Leon has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, and especially in the insurance sector in the Netherlands.
Leon has a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Delft (the Netherlands) and has also completed a General Management programme in INSEAD.
He is chair of the sector life insurances of Verbond van Verzekeraars. He is also member of the supervisory board of Nederlandse Herverzekeringsmaatschappij voor Terrorismeschaden and member of the supervisory board of Stichting Netspar.
