Advertising film from De Nederlanden van 1845 in 1939
Julius Pinschewer (1883-1961) was a famous film pioneer in the early 20th century, specialising in advertising films and animations. He made thousands of films for German companies, and also for De Nederlanden van 1845, one of the predecessors of NN Group.
One of his creations, the 1939 advertising film ‘In Holland staat een huis’ (‘There is a house in Holland’) was designed as a commercial to be shown in cinemas. The film tells the story of a family who, during the night, is alarmed by a fire in their house. Thankfully, the fire brigade comes to their rescue, and the family is relieved to have a fire insurance policy with De Nederlanden van 1845, which helps them rebuild their home.
The film title refers to a famous Dutch children’s song which plays in the background during the film.
