NN Group and Junior Achievement Europe - A look back at 2016

At NN Group, part of being a good corporate citizen means we use our resources, expertise, and reach to help society achieve long-term, sustainable prosperity. As part of our Community Investment programme Future Matters, we collaborate with various charitable partners such as Junior Achievement Europe (JA Europe).

Third year of partnership NN Group - JA Europe

JA Europe is the largest provider of educational programmes focusing on entrepreneurship, work readiness, and financial literacy throughout Europe. Through this partnership, in the first two years alone we reached more than 19,000 students. Our successful collaboration with them has led to a continued partnership into the third year.

Caroline Jenner, CEO for JA Europe: ‘To have NN Group as our partner adds value as it has allowed students to understand both the opportunities and challenges that businesses face. Interacting with NN professionals adds real-world relevance, giving young people a better understanding of the competences required and the role businesses play in finding solutions’.

Fleur Hudig,  Head of Corporate Citizenship at NN Group: ‘Continued collaboration with JA Europe matches NN Group’s  global corporate citizenship programme NN Future Matters, which aims to help improve people’s financial well-being’.

Expanding JA initiatives

Continuing the success of the programme, this year we will implement the Social Innovation Relay (SIR) - a key Junior Achievement initiative - in 11 countries, allowing us to reach out to more people than ever before. SIR is an international initiative that brings together experienced business mentors and students to tackle real social challenges in their local communities.

As part of our continued collaboration with JA Europe, we will also provide Social Innovation Camps in eight countries: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Spain, Turkey, and the Netherlands. Furthermore, we will also implement Job Shadow Days, which will give JA Europe alumni the opportunity to follow NN volunteers for a day in  Greece, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, Spain, and Japan.

NN Group is proud to partner with JA Europe, and through this partnership we will continue to support and encourage students to embrace social innovation and entrepreneurship.
